WP Full Picture’s cookie notice can be easily set up to comply with GDPR, CCPA and other privacy policies. View the quick setup video below or learn the details about all the available modes below.
Step 1. Setup cookie notice
The instructions shown in the video show the fastest way to set up a cookie notice that complies with privacy rules.
Step 2. Add a link to your privacy policy page
Most countries, that require either opt-in or opt-out modes, also require you to give your visitors a simple way to change their cookie preferences. To do this, add a button to your privacy policy and set its HTML class to fp_show_cookie_notice
. A screen with cookie settings will pop up when visitors click it.

How to set up cookie notice – detailed instructions
WP Full Picture lets you set how your notice will work for a single and for multiple countries.
How to set up the notice if your visitors come for a single country
If your visitors come from a single country, you do not need to have the geolocation module enabled. All you need to know is that your cookie notice can work in 3 modes: opt-in, opt-out and “only inform” (1).

You should choose the one that complies with the privacy rules in the country your traffic is coming from. If you don’t know which one to choose, find your country on this list.
Optionally, you can turn on an option to prevent forgetting traffic sources (2). This will slightly decrease the number of traffic labelled as “Direct”.
How to set up the notice if your visitors come from many countries
To set up the notice in multiple countries, you should first enable the geolocation module. After you do this, your cookie notice settings will change and you will have some extra options.

In the first field, you will be able to choose how you want to set up the notice:
- Manually – you will have to choose how the notice will behave in every country your visitors come from. This may seem difficult, but gives you more flexibility.
- Automatically (Lax) – this option will automatically choose cookie notice settings that respect privacy laws in 60+ countries. You should choose this option if you track your visitors with marketing tools
- Automatically (strict) – this will also automatically set up your cookie notice to comply with regulations from 60+ countries. Choose this one, if you do not use tracking tools for marketing purposes.
As an added bonus, turning on the automatic modes will prevent you from styling your notice in a way that is against privacy laws.
Automatic setup for multiple countries
Automatic setup for multiple countries is very easy. Simply, choose either “strict” or “lax” mode and you are done.
Manual setup for multiple countries

If you choose the manual mode (1), you will be able to choose where your notice will work in the opt-in mode (2), opt-out mode (3) and “inform only” mode (4).
You can read more about these modes here.
If someone visits your website from a country not mentioned in any of them, the notice will not show up for that person (but they will be tracked normally).
As a fallback, you will also be able to choose how the notice will behave if the geolocation fails (5).
