Manual setup guide for the Tracking Tools Manager module

From this guide, you will learn:

tracking tools manager settings 01

When to use the manual tracking tools management method?

Tracking Tools Manager helps you easily manage loading of tracking tools installed outside WP Full Picture (this also counts in all tools installed with GTM).

Managed tools can:

  • load according to tracking rules set up in the consent banner,
  • follow tracking exclusion rules set up in WP FP,
  • load in specific countries (wit the geolocation module)
  • and can even collect better quality data.

WP Full Picture gives you ready-to-use settings for managing popular WP plugins, however if the tools that you want to manage are not on the list, you may want to use the manual setup method.

It is also required if you want to load tracking tools only in specific countries.

How to fill in the fields for the manual setup method

tracking tools manager manual setup

To manually set up the management of tracking tools, you need to provide correct data in the set of fields that looks like the one shown above.

Each set of fields must contain information about only one tracking script, link or image.

If a tracking tool loads more than 1 script, all of them need to be set up in separate sections (click “plus” button to add them).

This is what you should do step-by-step.

  1. Give the script a name
  2. Choose what you want to control – a script, link or image pixel
  3. Enter the unique URL part of the script you want to manage or a piece of content of that element (works only on in-line scripts).
  4. Give the script an ID. This ID will be listed in the fp.loaded JavaScript object (in the front end browser console) that contains a list of IDs of all the tracking tools and scripts that WP Full Picture loaded for the current visitor.
  5. If you enabled the Consent Banner module, you will see fields where you can specify the purpose of the tracked data. This information will be used to load the managed script only for visitors that agree to certain types of cookies (if they live in a country where they need to opt-in to them).
  6. If you enabled the Privacy Policy Extras module you will see a field where you can give this script a name that will be shown in the “fp_info” shortcode.
  7. If you enabled the Geolocation module, you will see fields where you can choose where this script should load.

Copy-paste configurations for the tools handled by WP Full Picture

If you want to make any of the tools that are already handled by WP Full Picture only load in specific locations, you can set them up using the data from the table below.

Please note, that to manage some tools, you will have to enter the data of several scripts – each in its own set of fields.
